بات كريستيانو رونالدو ، قائد منتخب البرتغال، مهددًا بالتعرض لعقوبة من الاتحاد البرتغالي لكرة القدم، على خلفية مغادرته معسكر المنتخب بشكل مفاجئ خلال فترة التوقف الحالية.
ويأتي ذلك بعدما غادر رونالدو مقر تدريبات المنتخب في كوبنهاجن، عقب جلوسه على مقاعد البدلاء خلال مواجهة النرويج، رغم مشاركته أساسيًا في المباراة الأولى للبرتغال بدوري الأمم الأوروبية 2026-2027 أمام ويلز. وشارك رونالدو، البالغ من العمر 41 عامًا، أساسيًا أمام ويلز في المباراة التي انتهت بفوز البرتغال بهدف دون رد في لشبونة، قبل أن يقرر المدير الفني خورخي جيسوس إبقاءه على مقاعد البدلاء خلال الفوز على النرويج بنتيجة 2-1 في أوسلو.
وبعد المباراة، غادر رونالدو معسكر المنتخب، كما غاب عن مواجهة الدنمارك، عقب محادثات حادة جمعته مع جيسوس ورئيس الاتحاد البرتغالي بيدرو بروينسا. وقال جيسوس في تصريحات غاضبة: «يمكنني أن أعد بما أريد. أنا المدير الفني وقلت للاعب إنه لن يشارك. سأضعه على مقاعد البدلاء، وإذا احتجت إليه لمدة 30 دقيقة فسوف يلعب، وإذا لم أحتج إليه فلن يلعب».
وأضاف: «لا يوجد لاعب يمكنه تغيير رأيي. لا هو ولا أي شخص آخر في كرة القدم. ولا أي رئيس أيضًا. أبدًا، صفر».
وتشير لوائح الاتحاد البرتغالي لكرة القدم إلى إمكانية فرض عقوبة الإيقاف على رونالدو، في حال ثبتت مغادرته معسكر المنتخب دون مبرر مقبول. وتنص اللوائح على معاقبة أي لاعب يتخلف، بعد استدعائه رسميًا، عن التدريبات أو المباريات أو أي نشاط متعلق بالمنتخبات الوطنية أو بتمثيل الاتحاد البرتغالي لكرة القدم والبرتغال، دون مبرر، بالإيقاف لمدة تتراوح بين شهر و6 أشهر، بالإضافة إلى غرامة مالية.
وبذلك، قد يواجه رونالدو عقوبة تصل إلى 6 أشهر من الإيقاف عن تمثيل منتخب البرتغال، حال تطبيق اللائحة عليه. ويغيب رونالدو عن المباراة المقبلة للبرتغال خلال فترة التوقف الحالية، أمام النرويج يوم 4 أكتوبر، على أن تجرى محادثات بشأن موقفه قبل عودة المنتخب لخوض مبارياته خلال فترة التوقف الدولي في نوفمبر.
